Keeper Of The Watch is a screenplay based on the book, “Méjico, The Conquest Of An Ancient Civilization” written by
Ruffo, Espinosa, Sr.
Ruffo Espinosa, Sr., the author of this remarkable historical novel, was born in Mexico in 1907, although he spent most of his adult life in the United States. He studied both at the University of Southern California and the University of Arizona, and held a bachelor of arts in English and doctorate in Law. As a public defender he represented Mexican-Americans and those unable to defend themselves in a court of law. Eventually, he became District Attorney of Santa Cruz County in Arizona where he served for 12 years before eventually moving to Los Angeles.
But his first love always remained Mexican history. He developed a fascination with the epic tales of the Conquest and the forging of the cosmic race. Mr. Espinosa spent decades combing through the national archives in Mexico City and Spain conducting his research which resulted in this epic novel.
